At a time when a career was just a dream for most women, Nadia Payot was making her mark as one of Europe’s first female doctors. The legacy left by this remarkable women is a unique beauty concept the world knows as Payot.
Payot’s origins began in Paris in 1920 where Dr Nadia Payot, one of Europe’s first female medical Doctors, specialized in skincare and biochemistry. Dr Payot created new cosmetic rules, combining product with movement for the well-being, care and health of the skin. Dr Payot’s research led to the invention of the facial. She opened the first Beauty Salon in Paris in 1920 and two Spa’s in the south of France during the 1930’s where she performed facials and body treatments on stars such as Rita Hayworth and Ingrid Bergman. Just as fashion trends and attitudes have changed since those early years, so to have the pressures on people today. Payot’s products have evolved with times, encapsulating Dr Payot’s belief that “beauty comes from within” and a person’s radiance depends not soley on skin care but on inner harmony.
